Re: The Hobbit

I just thought I'd drop in and post something for once. I want to tell you guys that I go here every week or two for my info on the Hobbit and I appreciate reading all of your news updates and musings about the films. Its nice to go to a forum where mature people discuss a movie rather than most sit...

Re: The Hobbit

And don't forget, Oliver Reed died during the making of Gladiator and a number of the scenes where he was required involved a combination of digital recreation of his face and even using old footage twice throughout the movie. I was really shocked when I heard it, so I rewatched the film and it was ...

Re: The Dark Knight

I'm planning to see this one at the local IMAX theater, it will be amazing I'm sure :) All I can say at this point is, from what I've seen (and I've tried not to watch/read too much about it) the Joker will be one wild character. My e xp ectations are pretty high, and from what I've heard I shouldn'...

Re: The Hobbit
As long as GdT and Ron Perlman and the "new creatures" dont add up to make a Hellboy cameo... haha. :D
who knows, there might be something put into the background, but I get the impression that he would view it as disrespectful or some...

Found this interview on ComingSoon.net. He definately seems dedicated to the project ------------------------------------------------- http://www.comingsoon.net/news/nycomicconnews.php?id=44254 S/SHH!: Of course, there's been a lot of talk about "The Hobbit" lately, but you have so many pr...

Re: Sword Snobs!

I'd like to see the burglar who breaks in tell me that my 4 foot Anduril I just smashed him up with isn't weapon :D Don't worry about those guys, there's always jerks somewhere.

Thats true, I posted a picture of that a long time ago, comparing the two.

New Hobbit info!

Posted today on ComingSoon.net As for The Hobbit , Sloan confirmed that MGM was in advanced talks with Peter Jackson to make two movies based on JRR Tolkien's "prequel" to "The Lord of the Rings." The first would be a direct adaptation of The Hobbit , and the second would be draw...

Re: Narnia

I really can't bear to spend so much money on a second edition of a movie I already own, the most I'll do is rent it I think...

Re: Pirates 2 - Man's Chest

Highlight to read :) :

Once the credits end, we see a number of natives from the barbarian island dancing around the fire. The camera pans over to see the dog that the natives chasing earlier sitting on the throne, dressed in jewels and holding a bone in his mouth.

Re: what have i done?!

Spectacular is all I can say about your tower ash_nazg! How did you become so proficient at this, with all the small, small details? How long have you been using Sketch-Up? The best I can do is a boxy shaped aircraft carrier (more of a cargo ship really). A sample of my master piece of junk :P : htt...

Re: hi definition disks

Thats pretty much my opinion on the whole hi definition stuff. Although I have an HDTV and love it, I don't see any point in upgrading from the current DVD format. I'd need to have a better television set to care about that stuff.

Re: Martial Arts

Nice to hear Anduril 101!! Keep it up! Must be nice having a small class...you get a lot of personal attention? Then again, you must also get beat on a lot, eh? lol j/k Yeah, I have to spar my sensei's son (he's 20) every week :goofy_pur, nobody else can fight now becasue of injuries

Re: Martial Arts

When you first posted this thread, Anduril, you were training for your blue belt...how did that go? Got a lot of nice bruises from that grading? lol I can't say I got many bruises, but it was pretty tough, and exhausting; I had to do everything I was taught up to then (and do it very well :goofy_pu...

Re: Martial Arts

What i highly recommend though, is find a good sensei (teacher). This is what makes the difference in one's training. I totally agree. My sensei has been involved in martial arts since he was a teenager, starting with kung-fu (he got pretty high in ranking, not sure what it was), then I think he lo...

Re: My Computer Work Area ...

That first computer is pretty darn nice Justin! I can't say that for my setup, its pretty crappy. Someday though I'd like to build my own, then I'd actually be able to play decent games :) The best I can do now is ROTK at 640x480 :p My computer: Windows XP Home Edition Intel Celeron, 2.4 GHz 256 RAM...

Re: THE Movie Thread

Its been about 5-6 years though, I don't know if anyone wants to dig up the story out of the closet after that long, most people have probably forgotten the first one by now.

Re: THE Movie Thread

Allright, a bit random but I've been thinking about this lately... Who here thinks they should make a sequel to the Planet of the Apes remake? In my opinion, if its done right, it could be a very successful and cool movie. Remeber the ending? The main bad guy, Thade (sp?) is sitting in the Lincoln m...

Re: Anarion's Ban Discussion

I just want to say I agree with the mods and admin on this. Lately I haven't been around because of internet problems so I missed the whole ordeal. However, I think I would have only suspended his account for a period of time, two maybe three months. I think that might have knocked enough sense into...

Re: No more EWS?!

I guess the way they were put together reduced the e xp ected sales, with the handle mold and all... its a real pity UC couldn't find a good way of manufacturing it. Regardless, I think there are still quite a few of them in the retailer's shops an stuff, so just about anyone can still get one.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven

I saw KOH a few weeks ago, and I didn't like it. At all. It was something with the story. At first its hard to understand, then later, I began to see where it was going, and I just thought to myself "what the heck?" The acting was OK, and swords were great... But I just marveled at how slo...
