Re: The Hobbit
I would happily remove troll snot, bunny sled, quite a few minutes of the battle/esacpe from Goblintown.
Oh man, the bunny sled was hilarious! We were killing ourselves laughing when the sled was flying all over the place and then the dwarves were right ...

A Very Fond Farewell

Hello Friends, It has been sometime since I last visited the forums and longer still since I made a post. I see many familiar faces but I also see some new faces as well! So, in my absence from the forums, let me take this opportunity to welcome you! However, I will also be offering a farewell of so...

Re: What are you listening to?

A lot of new releases for my musical tastes recently have left my ears feeling pretty damn good! The new Mute Math album is fantastic. They are an alternative-rock band or an electronic rock group... whatever you want to call them. One of their greatest assets is their ability to continually evolve ...

Re: My Narnia Misadventure
Sometimes having an edit button is a good thing. For example, it would allow you to take some of your unnecessary commas and turn them into apostrophes. :P
Perhaps... perhaps... strangely enough, it is (bad) habit of mine to write as I would speak. Gran...

Re: The Hobbit
Nimoy's voice is very rough these days, due to age and probably far too many years of smoking...and gruff is largely a matter of vocal attitude. But I agree, he is WAY too recognizable as Nimoy. One of the brilliant aspects about the casting of LOTR was that the...
I'm getting really anxious to hear who's voicing Smaug too. What are the two ways that make sense to you, Thorin?
Well, actually, they've got it pretty close to how I pictured/heard it in my head when I was reading the books. First, an older, heavy vo...
I'm happy with that...as long as he doesn't get too much screen time, and isn't shield surfing, etc.
I will demand my money back if he DOESN'T shield surf. That's all I want to see. I'm really looking forward to finding out who is voicing Smaug. The rumo...

Re: What is everyone playing these days?

Currently playing Left 4 Dead 2 and I just grabbed Battlefield Bad Company 2 for $14 of Steam. L4D2 is a hilarious game. Nothing better than coming home from work and shooting zombies. I understand its not the best zombie game out there, but it's the only one I have. I don't spend a lot of money on ...

Re: The Hobbit

As much as I love Norway (actually, I've never been... but I'm sure its nice), I think Canada would be a good choice! ;)

Re: The Hobbit

Wait... wait... it took MGM THIS LONG? To figure out that any Bond film is guaranteed to make some money? Yikes!

Re: Clash of the Titans 2010

I think the best part of this film was when they are preparing to leave and he picks up the mechanical owl and says "what the hell is this?" I had a good laugh. Actually, come to think of it, I had a good laugh most of the film.

Re: The Hobbit

Ahhh damn! That sucks. He's been great in the Sherlock series. I am excited for the next season/full season. He'd have played a good Bilbo I think.

Re: Isildur's Account

It looks great! I don't know if its possible... but maybe some dirt smudges. Or some kind of smudges. Give it the look that its been handled a bit. I don't know though. It's one of those things that if you play with it too much, you might not be happy with it after a while. I am tempted to give this...

Re: The Hobbit

They were actually filming a version of LoTR for sheep.
Thought I'd just pass the word that I have it on good authority that The Hobbit is moving along much more rapidly than the general public is aware. The future for the film looks bright indeed. :)
I...

Re: Your favourite sports car.

That's a lot of money to spend on one car and as much as I love cars, I don't think I could ever spend that much on one. But, if I did have money to suddenly start blowing on cars, I would probably pickup something like a Nissan GT-R or a Maserati GranTurismo. Of which, neither are on the list. =)

Re: The Hobbit
If they really have picked NB, I suspect that Comic-con might be where/when it's officially announced. But if they don't announce it, don't despair of the movie being made. There's simply too much money to be made for them not to make the movie. That said, McKel...

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire! - HBO

Well, I haven't reported anything here in a while, but the news is: The shot the pilot and HBO loved it and gave it the greenlight. Production is now underway and the series will come to life next year! They've already started running teaser trailers and the website is up. http://www.hbo.com/game-of...

Re: Upcoming Films

I haven't heard anything about a new Hellboy, though I suppose if there is to be one, you might start to hear some details emerge now that Guillermo del Toro is no longer directing The Hobbit. I've always had mixed feelings about the Hellboy films.

Upcoming Films

Lots of interesting although somewhat e xp ected stuff going on right now. For starters, you can find the trailer for the next installment of the Harry Potter movies. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSostEQx60M ) Lot's of people seem to be quite excited for the two final bits, but my interest in th...

Re: The Hobbit

Alfonso Cuaron. Children of men was awesome and although I can hardly compare the two and although CoM is great strides ahead of Harry Potter... the Prisoner of Azkaban was awful. I would rather see PJ pick some one out of a hat for this. But certainly not Raimi, though, Bruce Campbell... perhaps a ...

Re: LOTR Midi File Request

Midi stands for musical instrument digital interface. So in other words, when you are using and audio equipment, mainly a keyboard, to create audio or just something that controls or converts. Its become quite a broad term. And for a midi file... just think back to all those old computer games that ...

Re: The Hobbit

Knowing Weta, they've probably already got molds of his face and are working on some nice prosthetics. I just hope things aren't delayed more than they have been because of the whole MGM thing.

Re: New Licensed "Robin Hood" Sword Now Pre-ordering

The narrator was hilarious! I like the blade and the overall shape of the hilt, but its too... fancy. I think the "Rise and rise again until lambs become lions" would have worked MUCH better if it was along the crossguard and also in latin. Too me, the hilt looks like it was inspired by so...

Re: Batman 3

I have not read any of the comics but from the sounds of it, Orca Man would definitely be my choice for the next villain. ;) Imagine all the directions they could take that one. Anyways, I hope they have not ruled out introducing a new villain all together. Gather the writers from the Batman series ...

Re: The Riddler's costume

A friend of mine went as the Doctor last year for halloween. He said that the jacket was the hardest thing to find but he did find something similar. I believe he picked it up at a goodwill/used clothing store. You can usually find old discarded jackets and stuff there so it might be a place to look...
