Re: Order Of The Phoenix

I saw the film on Thursday morning and I must say that barring some parts of the book that I really wanted to see, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have also heard the story about Kreacher and the need to introduce him now, it could be that he is significant in book 7, we'll have to wait until the 21st to...

Re: Harry Potter Wands

I have been a fan of the films for a while now and a fan of the books since I read them in January. I have started collecting the wands and they are excellent. My favourite is Voldemort's followed by Mad-eye Moody's. I have posted a few pictures of them before: http://www.ucforums.com/photopost/show...

Order Of The Phoenix

I saw the Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix teaser trailer on Yahoo movies the other day. Having just read the book, it was good to be able to recognise certain scenes and have a piture in your head of what a character is going to look like. I think the casting of Imelda Staunton as Umbridge...

Gallery Problem - Again

I have just been looking through my profile on the gallery and found many, many comments from 'Annonymous'. I have also checked a random assortment of other gallery members pics and they seem to be here too. The comments all appear to be some form of link to sites that imagine really shouldn't be on...

Re: THE Movie Thread

PETER JACKSON TO RELEASE RE-MAKE OF "THE DAMBUSTERS" Don't know if you had heard this before but I think it's great. I love all those old movies, A Brdige too Far, Battle of Britain, 633 Squadron e.t.c. Now we are going to see what Peter Jackson can make of the daring raids on three dams ...

Re: My Trip To Middle-earth

Well, I believe that area is called Skippers Canyon (near Queenstown) where the Ford of Bruinen was filmed. Glad you had a great time. I'm anxiously awaiting Friday, March 17. Three friends and I will be leaving for New Zealand to tour just the north island for two weeks. The only organized tour we...

Re: My Trip To Middle-earth

The Company was Red Carpet Tours (website www.redcarpet-tours.com ) They have access to many locations that no one else does. With regards to Helicopter flights and pics, I'm still organising them but I'll put a taster in the Photo Gallery for you, see If you can tell where it is (and it's not diffi...

My Trip To Middle-earth

Kia Ora one and all (That's Mouri for Be well) I've just got back from my tour of New Zealands wonderful Lord of the Rings locations. I have seen many things and would love to e xp lain it all but there is so much so I'll breifly outline what we saw. Hobbiton Various locals for Anduin Helm's Deep/Mi...

Re: LOTR's EE soundtrack?

Last week I reposted a lengthy post by Doug Adams, the author of the liner notes, originally made to a soundtrack forum. He says TTT soundtrack is currently in production. No release date has been set yet, because the FOTR set is selling quite well and they don't want to kill it off by getting TTT ...

Re: LOTR's EE soundtrack?

I have recently received this collection. All I can say is WOW!!! I am so pleased with it (especially the small bits of Music score in the booklet). I have absolutely fallen for the Track 'The Passing Of The Elves' - CD1 Track 10. I first played the DVD and my living room has excellent acoustics and...

Re: All things "War of the Worlds"

I got this on DVD yesterday with some scepticism. I love the book and the Musical version (Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds). And if it was anything like the 1953 version I would be dissapointed. But... What a Film! even though it departs from Wells' original storyline, it is like a story within the o...

Re: master replica lightsabers

Just recieved my Obi-Wan EpIII 1:1 replica. Now I have two others, Both Sith sabers. They look very nice in their cases but this one however is different. You look at it through the perspex cover and you see a weapon. It looks more threatening, I don't know why but it has more presence. None the les...

Re: Crying

The Grey Havens is so well done, it certainly made my throat twitch. I saw the film, for the second time, at the cinema with my mum (We went every year) and she said that it was one of the sadest parts of any film. If your aslo dealing with stirring moments, Gandalf's reading of the Ring speech in R...

Re: LOTR's EE soundtrack?

That's strange it's normally the other way around, the UK gets these things last. But saying that Sideshow said that they were looking forward to the release of Episode III on the 8th of November, well it's released in the UK today (31st).

Re: LOTR's EE soundtrack?

I Have finally found this on Amazon.co.uk

It's released in the UK on the 28th of November.

I'll defenitely be getting this and probably be taking it with me on holiday next Feb.

Re: Deeper Things Thread

[quote="BladeCollector"]a concord took off in england or something and landed in new york "before it left"... like it left england at 2:30 and due to the speed of the plane and the timezones, they landed before 2:30 in new york.quote] Just to clarify, Concorde, before it was take...

Re: Danbury Mint Barad-dur

The only Lights on Minas Tirith that I can think of is the Beacon of Minas Tirith (The first in the white Mountain chain) and the light in the white tower (In the book, the Palantir made a strange glow in the topmost window.)

Re: Danbury Mint Barad-dur

I placed an order for this yesterday. Can't wait to get it, I love the look of Barad-dur. I hope there is a leaflet in there about Minas Tirith, I would love to get a larger version, escpecially if it has Trebuchets on the Battlements or flags (pre or post war). I would love them to do Orthanc as I ...

Movie Katana's

I recently procured three replica Katana's, all from movies.:fencing: I got the Bride's sword and Bill's sword from Kill Bill and The sword from the Last Samurai. The Two Kill Bill swords are OK, i wasn't overly impressed with them, but as long as they stay in the scabbards, they look good. The Last...

Re: What's it like where you live?

I practically live in the Shire. I Live in a town called Horsham in England (About 6-7 Miles from Gatwick airport) Its pretty quiet and that's how I like it, full of its own comings and goings and just down the road is the start of the Great British countryside. Rolling hills, green pastures and all...

Re: Anyone going to the Columbus Stargate Convention?

The New Series of SG-1 hasn't started in the UK yet (October I think it starts) I had heard that the Goa'uld were not going to be in it and to be honest, they could have ended the series with Mobeus part II, i mean all the threads have been relatively tied up. By the way was anyone very ticked off w...

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

I always wondered if it ment Picard used the Best of both Worlds he was in. His humanity was used against him by the Borg to destroy but he was able to use his Humanity along with the Borg technology (and a little assistance from Data) to finally defeat them. That is a very interesting title. I wond...

Re: Unreleased Prototypes for your viewing pleasure!

WOW! They should definitely have released the Argonath environment, it looks superb. And is they three little elven boats I see passing along the river? The Bows collection is good too but I'm not sure about the Moria tombs, it would have been better to do the City of the Dead or another place, Rive...

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

Cogenitor : Enterprise encounters a race called the Vissians who feature a third sex of "cogenitors" who are treated as second-class citizens. Trip, who apparently has no judgment at all, makes a tragedy out of what would have otherwise been a very good first contact e xp erience. This ep...

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

I don't know if this has been mentioned before in this thread, but there is a huge blunder in ST: Nemesis, other than the DNA/RNA dub by Crusher. Picard tells Shinzon - "Your Heart, Your Hands, are the same as mine" Did Shinzon have a Naussican stab him through the back when he was young b...

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

Minefield..... A decent ep, notable for the first appearance, such as it was, of the Romulans. This episode goes against the Star Trek Lore, as do many others. In The Original Series episode Balance of Power (I think its balance of power, the one with the Romluan Bird of Prey) Spock had never seen ...

Re: Pure StarWars Discussion

Did you notice that the line "He was too dangerous to be left alive" was used twice in ROTS. Palpatine says it about Count Dooku with Anakin regretting killing him, and then he is faced with the phrase again when Windu says it about Palpatine, "He has control of the Senate and the Cou...

Re: master replica lightsabers

My Darth Sidious 1:1 Limited Edition Lightsaber has arrived. Excellent, everything has gone as I have forseen, it is beautiful. The Gold accents, the organic shape which fits perfectly in my hand. The way it looks when you open the box is quite striking, its just sitting there wrapped up and yet you...

Re: All things "War of the Worlds"

I loved the original book and the musical by Jeff Wayne, narrated by Richard Burton. What an opening: "Who would have believed, in the last years of the Nineteenth century, That human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No-one could have dreamed that we were being scru...

Re: master replica lightsabers

Did you get the .45 scaled saber or the limited edition saber handle for $370 bucks? Typically Dark side, I'm greedy. I already have the .45 best buy scaled replica (It's not the same colour, sort of pewter colour) but I have also bought the full scale replica. I also have the .45 Vadar and Dooku s...
