Ok so I got out my drill and drilled out the epoxy residue and found the swords tang about half way down the handle. So was the pommel just held on with glue? There was quite a bit inside of it and the sword handle. I thought all UC swords had threaded thangs that went into the pommel.

I've done some research on these new higher quality knockoffs. I know they are being made in china instead of pakistan. These started showing up right around the time UC was having problems. So I'm left to wonder if the chinese forge making these didnt somehow get their hands on the molds from UC's ...

I got my Balrog in a couple days ago. Its massive, 26.5" inches from foot to wing. I wish I could have come up with a better display but his size really limits you.

I dont own any of the forged of folded but my favorite that I have is the Practical Katana. Why? I've but it through a lot of abuse and it has taken no damage what so ever. My Practical Plus got a nice chip out of the edge, but no such thing on the practical.

I'm not at home right now but I'll take pics when I get back. As far as I can tell the helm and the shield have the exact same paint job. They really compliment each other very well.

Please don't ever use this sword for anything except a show piece. Real shinken usually run in the $700 and up range for a half way decent shinken. If this was to be used you could get seriously injured. Because these are made with Stainless steel and cheep fittings they can't stand any type of abu...

I like what UC did to the sword over the older Factory X version. The new blade and etchings are very nice. Though it is purely fantasy based on Jason and the Argonoughts. Good price too, I've seen them as low as 50 and thats very tempting.

At least it was a knockoff, i would recommed buying some epoxy and glueing the pommel back onto the tang. I know UC does thae same thing with some of their LOTR swords.

how do you get those confirmations? they come from the seller? ive ordered alot of items and been given a code or whatever, but i always just waited it out. i should be more carefull really, any tips on making sure all is ok would be much appreciated, because i often have to wait about 3 - 5 weeks ...
