Re: Game Of Thrones

I agree- although I did enjoy that last episode- this whole season feels way too rushed. I feel like we are completely missing out on all of the subtle plot lines and scheming... for more action and dramatic effect. I loved all of the scheming in the first few seasons- it's like the West Wing with d...

Re: What are you reading?

I finished Enders Game a couple of days ago and liked it well enough to go to Half Price Books to get Speaker of the Dead. About a third of the way through that one now. I've been going through about a book a week recently. I also picked up a few more books. Up next in my queue is The Last Colony by...

What are you reading?

I have been on a major reading kick recently. Last year my wife had a New Years resolution to read 30 books in 2016 that she has never read before. She accomplished that goal and during it I decided to try to do the same. It was wonderful finally reading so many books that I heard such wonderful thi...

Re: Game Of Thrones

Im just disappointed that you watched Game of Thrones at my place of employment and didn't invite me! DUDE!?! I woulda totally met up if I woulda known. I was there forever! Re: Game Of Thrones

Oh man- I've been done watching the latest episode for a half an hour now and my adrenaline is still pumping! What an episode!

Now I need to watch a little Joy of Painting with Bob Ross to calm myself down.

Re: Pure Middle-Earth discussion.

Better to have Vin as Aragorn than Viggo What's-His-Face!

Kidding of course! I am very glad that the production made the casting choices that they did make! Excellent choices all around!

Although I do have to say... David Bowie as Elrond might have been interesting!

RIP Prince

As I'm sure most of you have heard already- Prince has died. His death has hit Minnesotans like myself harder than most. Prince was born in Minnesota and lived and recorded in Minnesota. There was a saying in this area- you were not a true Minnesotan unless you had one good Prince story. Mine was wh...

Re: Dragon Hoard

Museum Replicas also has for LOTR:

Striders leather jerkin
Bracers of Boromir
Shirt of Frodo Baggins
Aragorn's Surcoat

Those are the specific items from Museum Replicas that I own.

Re: Dragon Hoard

Now I'm just spit-balling here- but I was wondering if it would be at all possible to be able to see everyone who has a certain item. For instance- if I wanted to see who all had the Shards of Narsil and what numbers they had- it would be neat to be able to click on that item and see a list of every...

Re: Is Anyone going to Wizard World convo in Portland?

Wizard World was the first and only con that I have been to and I loved it! It was larger than expected and I was surprised to see so many celebrities that I recognized! I got to meet Karl Urban, Sylvester McCoy, and James and Oliver Phelps. Plus it was great to spend time at the Weta booth of course!

Re: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

Ah- completely understood! I guess I am too use to describing quality issues in song tracks as "pops and hisses." It seems like it wasn't too long ago when I was converting records in cassettes. All of the pops and hisses transferred as well. Then even later I transferred those cassettes t...

Re: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

So I decided to go ahead and treat myself. I found a decent deal for all 3 LOTR complete recordings and have been listening to them while at work for the past few days. For the most part- I absolutely love these! It's like I'm listening to these songs for the first time! The only drawback I have not...

Re: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

I bought the track "The Battle of the Pelennor Fields" just to test it out. I will get the rest of the album but I think I'm just going to tell my wife to get it for me for Christmas. She always gets mad at me for buying myself small things like this when the holidays are so close.

Re: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

Wow- almost 10 hours! Makes sense considering the length of the movies. Right now what I have is an iTunes playlist with my favorite tracks from the soundtracks that I do own. I love listening to the LOTR soundtrack while at work- basically whenever I have a lot of computer work to do and I don't wa...

Re: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

Interesting! I guess I never heard there was another release of the soundtrack! There was a lot of re editing that was done to the regular release of the soundtrack- most of them irk me but none of them as much as The Battle of Pelennor Fields. I could never take that remix. Looks like I am going to...

The Battle of the Pelennor Fields

This may be a long shot- but I have long been dismayed by the re edit done to the track "The Battle of the Pelennor Fields" on the The Return of the King soundtrack. In the movie, it is the culmination of so many wonderful things at the same time that made the scene so great to me. Just wh...

Re: UC1400

I used 600 grit sandpaper to get rid of the markings. Make sure you go with the grain of the stainless- otherwise it's going to look worse.
