Re: UC "Museum Collection" Carbon Steel Anduril ??

Just realized this thread is over 3 years old now lol. According to BudK's website the "updated" release date is June 2024. Sadly I have other sword projects in the works this year... but I am still looking forward to picking this one up! Interested to see how the newest prototype hilt pa...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Thank you for the information. I wasn't able to access the images that you posted here for some reason (404 error), but I went back and looked at what you posted in the "Your Collection" thread, and I believe that I know what you're talking about. I did notice the lack of spatter when I fi...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Someone fell asleep at the number stamping machine? There's some poor factory worker out there right now with a couple of Elf Helm edition numbers permanently stamped on his forehead. Probably. They were supposed to be hand numbered, as they have done in the past. There were also several pa...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Just like others said, I can't believe that is something that they let people try on and wear. Not that I wouldn't want to hold a Peter Lyon original if given a chance (with gloves of course). Upon searching Budk's site (I check daily for new stuff) I saw 3 new listings Gandalf's white staff Uruk-h...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Hey guys, I just received the re-release Gondorian and Isildur helms. Happy to answer any questions and or share pictures. Just wanted to say the rivets don't seem to be an issue, but be aware these aren't shipped in the best packaging, the front detailing on my Isildur helm was bent. Fixable, but ...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I actually find it really strange that they are still using that brown sleeve artwork design from over ten years ago. After the green/red/blue cycle of the original releases, brown is what they changed to as kind of a unified standard, but that was subsequently dropped by the new UC in favour of th...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

<Sigh> What a shame. I was hoping this would have fared better than the Witch King sword. What is the design of the outer box sleeve on these reissues? Same as before? I'm going to try to hunt older versions on ebay. Maybe they will have gone down in price a bit. It looks like the original release ...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I think I may try and disassemble the sword to see if I can get the fit a bit straighter on mine, and see about doing a wash to darken the etch. That looks like the blade grinds were made off center. I don't think that has anything to do with the fit. Both the Witch-king and Ringwraith swords were ...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Here are a few photos of mine from the original run for comparison. The new texture is very similar to the morgul dagger. 20220409_100832.jpg 20220409_100703.jpg 20220409_100656.jpg [/quote] I appreciate the reference photos - thanks! Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

Sting Scabbard (LOTR) and Ringwraith sword both in-stock now at Budk. Thanks. Too bad BUDK doesn't ship outside of the US. :( As soon as they're available at Castle Kon, that will be my next purchase. It will be a bit more expensive with shipping costs and taxes when arriving here than buying it fr...

Re: United Cutlery's - LOTR & The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I saw that, but I was messaged today by someone else who received their sword and they paid full price. So this is the 2nd one now that is like this. I have a feeling they are all similar unfortunately. I didn't see the second sword comment on Instagram. Then it seems that finally that is the finis...
