Re: New Weta everywhere you look!

Looks like we posted at about the same time! I am seeing a lot of similarities with the original prop and the Weta version- same warping. I think I mispoke when I made the metal comment. It was more a comment on the weight than the material. I was surprised by the weight- I guess I was too used to p...

Re: New Weta everywhere you look!

Okay- first impressions: Whoa- this thing is made out of metal! Seems pretty decent. I don't know why but I e xp ected the orb to be bigger. The entire staff is quite a bit longer than I also imagined. Also- the staff has a few bends in it. Although I'm pretty sure the prototype showed a little curv...

Re: The Hobbit

That scene at the end of ROTK is my favorite change from the book that PJ made. I don't like many changes- but to me there was something that felt so right to have the Hobbits come back from such a dangerous adventure to a completely untouched Shire. These hobbits had the king of Gondor bow to them ...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!
I am looking forward to adding more Elvish weapons to the collection, but damnit, I was really looking forward to having something of Bard that isn't the black arrow.
Me too! I've seen BOFA twice now. The first time was to take it all in. The sec...

Re: The Hobbit

Well this thread got dull for all of us that haven't seen the movie yet. I guess I better see it tonight so I can join the conversation!

Re: The Hobbit

I had the same e xp erience with An Une xp ected Journey. I haven't watched it a whole lot since seeing it in the Theatres since I was mainly disappointed with it. But I watched it not too long ago to get ready for this last movie and I found myself enjoying it. Same can't really be said for Desolat...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

That's a bummer that you also had to pay that much Val. Right now I'm mostly upset over trying to get the Witchking helm because I was working a deal with someone on the RPF who was going to sell me his. Last I heard from him he was checking on shipping costs and I felt like we had a deal. Last I he...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I'm sorry Val- no debate intended! While I completely understand and respect your statement- I just really want a Witchking helm! I was going to get one after I purchased my Shards of Narsil way back when- but then I was stricken with a life-threatening disease which made me run low on funds and cha...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I'm glad someone else said it! I felt those prices were much higher than what I e xp ected them to be! With that said- I am really hoping to pick up the Rivendall helm, Mace of Sauron, and Legolas bow. That helm is just too cool to let go! As of right now I do not have a single helm- but I would lov...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

If Pete kills off Radagast in the next movie- then it's a good excuse as to why he wasn't involved in the LOTR. Plus add dramatic effect. The Hobbit movies have already e xp anded well beyond the books to add more excitement and emotion. Killing off a beloved character could really get the handkerch...

Re: Escape to Middle Earth

Ah, I believe it is I who you are referring to. My family comes from the ancient city of Nargothrond. We helped build and served in the realm of the great Elven King Finrod Felagund.

Wonderful thread and beautiful writing! I can't wait for the next installment!
I need you to verify EXACTLY what your head circumference is. Make the measurement using a stable cloth tape or paper tape long enough to go around your head. Measure right above eyebrow around just above your ears Where they attach to your head, not at the ...

Re: Elven Leaf Brooch

Haha I had a feeling I didn't make myself clear. When I watch the movies the Elven brooches seem to have a greyish green color... The Noble brooches seem to be just a solid deep green... If that makes any more sense.

Re: Elven Leaf Brooch

Maybe someone can clear something up for me. In the pictures that I have seen of the Noble brooch the leaf part looks... too green... if that makes sense. Is that true in real life or is it just the pictures that make it look like that?

Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmiths

It looks like there are at least several of us with at least one Jens Hansen ring, so I would like to start this thread to show off and discuss the wonderful products made by this great company! I own two Jens Hansen rings. My first one is the Movie Ring in 9ct gold. Ever since I first saw The Fello...
