Re: Game Of Thrones

Wow... I missed some conversation... I think I will add a few thoughts to this already beaten horse. 1. From the first scene of the first episode, the white walkers were introduced and become a MAJOR plot point and reference over the last 7 seasons. They were built up to be the big bad. An ancient e...

Re: Game Of Thrones

This show has jumped the proverbial shark. From being immeasurably excited 3 weeks ago to right now, I dont even know if I want to finish watching the show.

And I am still salty about Littlefinger as well.

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

I'll post some quick comments since I'm on my phone, but I enjoyed it. Yes it has it's flaws, but I thought it was wrapped up nicely. Sweeping discovery under the rug and erasing it from existence (for now, don't know what the future holds for it) doesn't surprise me. I have no doubts military cover...

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

I dig Spock's beard. As a fellow bearded man, I support the fellow beardmen :). I am glad I am not the only one that finds Michael to be off putting to say the least. Not that we saw every waking moment and conversation of Spock's life in the previous Trek series/movies, but ya think a mention of an...

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

Sorry... I have been watching but I was out of town for work and got back to my regular routine today. I can pretty much say I echo the sentiments of Val and Olorin. Overall, I am enjoying the show, but I can definitely nit pick it to death! I love Pike and Spock. I would love to have a show about t...

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

I am liking the show overall. I like the serialized nature as opposed to stand alone episodes we know from past Trek. I do agree with prequels adding background that you would think would have been addressed, a la Spock's foster sister, you'd think it would have come up in some sort of conversation....

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

I think casting of the Abramsverse was very good, just the movie plots were "eh." They were ok, I think I liked them more than Val did, but I hated the rehashed Wrath of Khan, although I loved Benedict's performance, they could have named him ANY other name and he would have been fantastic...

Re: Picard returns!

YES!!!! This is some good news to start the new year off!
Now lets just get some of the other TNG alum on board, I posted in the other star trek thread when I met Frakes, he basically said he is just waiting for a phone call to come back as Riker.

Re: Comic Cons

All of my pictures are on my Facebook which I have set to fairly private, but I think this link works for everyone, even if you don't have a FB page. Also, my instagram is set to public if you know my real name, I am easy to find :P and would like to view my adventures. https://www.facebook.com/medi...

Re: Comic Cons

I forgot about this thread! In the last 3 years since I went to 2015 Comicpalooza, I've attended about 13 cons around Texas and I have done many many many photo ops with celebs. It has become my new "collecting addiction" so to speak. Along with a few autographs here and there and collecti...

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

Went to Alamo City Comic Con in San Antonio Texas and met this guy https://scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/44937184_10100982150529820_6624878601860808704_o.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=73b2a08801c63ce2caa7c97617bb8de7&oe=5C3CF5B7 He was super nice and friendly and w...

Re: Pure StarWars Discussion

Sorry for my lack of activity, I've been jetsetting around Europe the last few weeks. I did see Solo before I left and I won't get into a lengthy essay about it on my phone while in heathrow Airport... But I enjoyed it. I thought it was a fun movie. Was it a movie of jaw dropping epicness? Nope, but...

Re: New Weta everywhere you look!

I also keep all of my boxes, much to my wife's dismay, but I've been able to impress upon her that in the collecting world, having the original packaging is nearly as important as the collectible itself. Luckily we have a very large storage room in the house. I've seen it... the room for the origin...

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

Overall I really found myself enjoying the new series. One thing that I absolutely loved about the new series is how serialized it is. I loved each episode picking up right after each other. I know the other series had some longer arcs, but most of the episodes are stand alone. I really liked the tw...

Re: Merry Christmas!!

I am a little late to the party... I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Holiday season! I have been battling the flu and a stomach bug the last couple of weeks, so, needless to say, that is why I have been absent from the forums these last weeks. :(

Re: Pure Star Trek Discussion

I don't think I have formed an opinion yet.... I am not excited about Tarantino nor am I "*** are they thinking??," right now I am indifferent. I would say I like Tarantino more than I don't but I am definitely not a Tarantino fan boy.

I guess we will just have to wait and see..

Re: 2017 Star Trek TV series

So I have finally caught up with the first half of season one. Overall I thought it was pretty good, except for the klingons, why do they have to change the klingons?! I also agree with Val's comments that, obviously it can't look like TOS, but jeez, the technology looks like its 200 years after Voy...

Re: LOTR TV adaptation

First we had multi-movie trilogies, quadrilogies, prequel trilogies, sequel trilogies, now we are in the midst of the era of cinematic universes and TV universes (MCU, DCEU, Arrow-Verse, Marvel Netflix), it only stands to reason that the big wigs want to do this with Middle Earth
