I had an 18kt ring once that looked new after bring worn for a couple of generations. No polishing or cleaning was done to it. Just worn. My 9kt ring picks up every scratch and knick possible and I am careful with it. Perhaps the 18kt just doesn't show it as well because it's a richer and deeper col...

I know just what you mean. Plus Halfdan and his team have been great to work with! In face I had them create my wife's wedding band and engagement rings! They did an amazing job!!! I just pulled my Narsil (not the Shards, but the actual sword) from storage as well. It has similar markings on the blade but not as bad. I will be sure to let everyone know how they turn out when I polish the blades.

Yes I did have them in plastic. Best I can think of for it to make that pattern is that while in storage it got humid out- and then during the winter the moisture froze with the plastic.

I don't think it is- I have tried using a soft cloth but the marks are on there pretty good. They weren't on there when I first got it but some time while in storage it received those marks.
