this is a stupid point made by myself but if you have seen the cartoon version of the hobbit, the elves are primitave at first but have armor in the end of the film. I can almost guarantee that john and alan would design armor for them.

i like the simplicity of glamdring because it has that subliminal technological theme to it, (one of the best swords out there) and i doubt valyrian steel will come out with functional pieces your better off going custom forged.

i heard that is one of the functional pieces but there is a more simpler way. go to youtube get a scene with needle in it. hit the print screen button and gather images. then send them to bladesmiths and get quotes. and i agree it is better than the book versions.

i agree, i believe they will be in armor if anything similar to the fashion of the lorien elves of helms deep. Considering thranduil fought in the battle of dagorlad he may still have old armor from the prequel they may just tweak to give an original look.

its the kingsguard armor from game of thrones, Barristan Selmy also wears this beware though the helmets are slightly different in season 2. THranduil's profile pic, is that what hes going to look like? that cool armor!

well it does not have the tree of gondor but its the exact design you can get it in a normal finish, Blackened(like Numenor) or polished. my guess is that the picture we saw was a mirkwood elf possibly? and she may protect kili in the battle of the five armies after he defends thorin.
