Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

I have to say that all this negativity has been really good for me. It makes me realize the commitment I need to maintain in QC. Thankful I show you my "Worst" in the introduction of a new item. I promised all of you a photo of the #2 Eomer helm over a week ago, well it never made it to th...

Re: New Movies

I just bought Ender's Game on video because it looked decent to me. I had remembered some of you had talked about it here but didn't read anything, avoiding spoilers. I came back to this thread to read because I was wondering whether or not I want to read the book(s). Before buying it (the film) I r...
got my orcrist scabbard today and the tip is broken
Sorry to hear about this Rick. Would you be so kind as to take a photo of it so we can see what the details are of what is being purchased? I'm curious about what the materials are, I assume it...

Re: Sleepy Hollow

Well I got caught up on episodes 11 & 12 today.
I must say I totally enjoy Ichabod Crane with all his eccentricities.
The whole cell phone social network stuff was really funny.

Re: Sleepy Hollow
Does anyone know why it only got 13 episodes? I guess Fox wasn't that confident in the show, I wonder if next season will be a full 20+ episode season. I love how they are bringing a lot of elements and backstory, to the show. It was going to get old rea...
Sorry if this is the wrong tread for this but, I found a photo of Girion with his/Bard's sword and must say that I like the design :)
I'd say it's the right thread for it considering Bard is a big topic right now. That is a cool design, I like it a...

Re: The Hobbit

Now that black speech is over I get to rant about the OTHER thing that I didn't like: The Legolas, Tauriel, Kili love triangle developing. I did mention Phillipa & Fran, and still believe thay are the driving force behind this whole "Affair" :p uker: The possibilities are indeed endles...

Re: The Hobbit
It's such a quick shot, I was like "Damn, there's no rewind button :( " :P
Rewind is on it's way, just a matter of time before it gets released on DVD & BluRay.
On a related but sad note, I read that Wojciech Kilar just died. He composed the score for Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, a really beautiful score, and was in the early running to score LOTR. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013/12/29/85803-polish-composer-woj...

Re: United Cutlery's - The Hobbit - Movie Props!

No doubt they had "Tall Paul" wielding that prop. Some of you may recall that is 7+ foot actor filled in for any character when interacting with the hobbits so that the scale would be believable. I'm not saying he wore the Sauron armor in the prelog shots, but was probably wielding the mac...

Re: The Hobbit

My guess is that Howard Shore had some flashbacks and made it clear to PJ he wasn't up for the whole gig again. Being 10 years older I don't blame him. Don't misunderstand me, I think he was up for doing all the new stuff, but didn't want to deal with the last minute recuts that required him the bur...

Re: Merry Christmas!!

I certainly wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.
May God bless those of you traveling with safe passage there and back again.
Hope Santa brings you all wonderful toys, and your time with loved ones full of joy. :)

Re: The Hobbit

On the 2D note, which was how I saw it the second time around, it made me realize I have no preference. Maybe because I saw it first in 3D I felt the depth anyway.

Deimos, why would you want your scabbards to have silver scroll work rather than the gold?

Transparent Aluminum is probably easier.

Btw, would anyone care to start a thread that e xp lains how to multi-quote. I'm sure it's a piece of cake but I try and just can't figure it out.

Re: The Hobbit
Thranduil, this stood out to me as well. Black speech? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this scene was in Mirkwood before Bilbo attacks the spiders? He is holding Sting in his right hand, and reaches into his left pocket with his left hand to get t...

Re: The Hobbit

As far as Legolas' age is concerned, it may have just been something someone told me, or even speculation made by some supposed Tolkien e xp ert. (With a little horn to his ear, "He said he's an exspeart" :coolsmile ). I spent a lot of time trying to find info on the contacts, eye color is...

Welcome Jason.
After seeing the close up shots that Legion posted of his MC Sting, I think you started out with the perfect piece, congrats.

Hope you jump right in, there's a lot happening in here. Great bunch of people :thumbs_up

Re: The Hobbit

After reading so many other members remarks, I decided to go back and see TDOS again to check on my initial opinion, and see if I had a knee jerk reaction. I decided to watch AUJ before I went because I basically liked it, and wanted to see if I felt there was a different "feel" in the sec...

Re: The Hobbit

I think it's difficult to comment without being specific and thereby throwing in spoilers. I remember it well because I actually mentioned that I may have t...

Re: The Hobbit

IMO, the best way to get the ladies to cry is to follow the story and kill off the heart throbs. And in this modern age of female hero's, Tauriel would survive. One can't e xp ect PJ and crew to display any politically incorrect weakness in the female, especially with Phillipa and Fran writing. Shal...
