Re: Spiderman 3

Thunder wrote:But speaking of a 4th villain... Curt Conners is still in this one. Lizard anyone? I doubt they'd stuff him in here, but you never know.
That's the most frequent rumour I believe, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet I don't think.
This is where I first read there'd be 4.

Re: Spiderman 3

Looking good. This series of films has been really impressive, and it looks as if the third one will continue that happy trend. Of course, that's just a teaser. Apparently there are 4 villains in this one. Spidey's definitely going to have his work cut out for him this time around! Superman looks e...

Re: New LOTR dvds

I've heard of him, though he's really a nobody. He's infamous in NZ for a documentary he co-wrote with PJ about a fictional pioneer of the film industry. Some people believed it, so he had to go on record and say it was a hoax. But because he knows PJ, he was "allowed" to shoot behind-the...

Re: X-Men 3 - Movie Trailer!

Ok, let's try this again... I saw it the other week. I thought it was pretty good for the most part. It's certainly not the heap of sheet ( ;) ) that some of the critics would have had us believe. The criticism directed at Ratner was more than a little unfair. The action is great, and there's lots ...

Re: The Witchking's Mace

No, no, of course not, I was simply referring to the head of the weapon on the end of the chain, as I was under the impression that the actual spiked ball itself is known as the morning-star, whether it be attached to a chain (flail), or shaft (mace).

Re: The Witchking's Mace

The morning-star is made of a hard-coated plastic and is filled with foam, as is the handle, I presume. The chain is the only steel component, and coupled with the foam-filled star, will no doubt give it a bit of (unconvincing) weight. It looks pretty good in the photos, but I'm not sure a bit of p...

Re: Why is United Cutlery stopping production on LOTR items?

Spaced out is definitely the way to go as far as I'm concerned too. For most people it's just not possible to buy these products at the rate United has released them in in the past. Obviously (or hopefully), other financial obligations come before blowing money on LOTR collectibles, and then some c...

Re: Un-Pimp Your Ride

I like them too (the ads). These riced out pieces of sh*t really annoy me to be honest. They sound terrible, and most look atrocious. What the majority of the owners seem to forget is that the cars in films like the Fast and the Furious are not only modified on the outside, but on the inside too (i...

Re: Why is United Cutlery stopping production on LOTR items?

Yes, Kit Rae works for United Cutlery. Look at his signature. It says Product Design Director, United Cutlery/Kit Rae Fantasy Art. As for why United doesn't answer fans, that's really because they don't have a representative here, like Kit said. Mr. Rae stops by from time to time in his personal ti...

Re: Amazing Star Wars fan film

Heh, I can imagine that was entertaining ^ :coolsmile

I agree with ash tho, pretty impressive in terms of choreography, and also with GuardianWolf, in that it's easily as good as some scenes in the films, especially the old ones, where good anything is difficult to find...*braces self* hehehe

Re: Aragorn's Crown?

I wished for Elrond's or any of those crowns. I hope someday they are made. Actually, the Noble Collection already makes Elrond's crown. It costs $195.00 Here's a picture: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y298/Durcirion/NN0522L.jpg Congratulations on your purchases, GuardianWolf :) I'm looking forw...

Re: Fan-film LOTR prequel

Indeed, and that's a shame. From their site, it seems to be a genuine fan film. They even said that they originally intended to show a film at the Tolkien Fan film Exhibition, and this is how the idea came about. I don't see how they can get into trouble for that, if there's an exhibition for their...

Re: New UC LOTR Items!

Well ok then, based on Justin's post, there will be no more Elven Warrior Swords at all. Maybe I was reading too much into that 'limited edition' part before, since it's kind of already limited as is with such a low number having been produced, it could just mean they were going to find someone els...

Re: New UC LOTR Items!

Yeah, I read about that. Seems legitimate info, as the source is a credible one, though as he stated, nothing is set in stone. I'm excited about the prospect of Sauron's Mace. Have UC figured out a way to make it without them or us needing to take out a loan? I hope so. It's the piece I want the mo...

Re: X-Men 3 - Movie Trailer!

Yes, I remember hearing something about that on television the other day. Perhaps Ian Holm as Bilbo in the Hobbit is not so out of the question afterall then. You'd only need him for the close-ups anyway...It could work.

Re: Thorin's Movie Reviews

Hugh Jackman was certainly one of the few plus points. I am also a fan, I think he's a great actor. He's definitely got more range than most actors cast in action flicks I think. I hadn't heard about Dark Kingdom, but it looks pretty cool. I'm sure there will be a re-run at some point, so I'll try ...

Re: Thorin's Movie Reviews

My thoughts on Van Helsing. Well, there's a lot I hate about the film tbh. First, Kate Beckinsale's Romanian accent. I'm not saying I could do any better, but it's really quite bad. I'm sure they could've found a pretty girl that was at least from that part of the world, and would be more convincin...

Re: Thorin's Movie Reviews

Heh, I considered doing this myself, as I've written a few reviews for other websites on videogames and films. This is one of the many films that we own (we being my family). I think it's pretty good, and have watched it a couple of times. The cast is strong enough when led by Sean Connery, the act...

Re: Interesting problem with my Andruil scabbard

I don't know, perhaps. It's not something I've tried before. When my Ranger sword got stuck in the scabbard, I utilised a very unconventional method to remove it. I simply sat on the floor, held the scabbard in both hands for extra support, and pushed on the crossguard with my foot. I did this gent...

Re: Interesting problem with my Andruil scabbard

I e xp erienced a similar sort of thing when I first got my Ranger sword scabbard. I had to push really hard just to get the sword all of the way in, and then pull even harder to get it back out again. You may want to just do this a couple of times a day for example, and see if it loosens up a bit....

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice

I finished A Feast for Crows last night. I won't go into detail about it since you've not read it yet, but I'd say it's probably my least favourite so far. That's only because it focuses preponderantly on the King's Landing characters, like Cersei and Jaime. There's a note in the back from George R...

Re: Star Trek Legacy

They previewed this at E3 yesterday, and had the games developer talk about it. Sounds and looks pretty good actually. Every ship from every race from all the series is in this game apparently, and you can fight any ship with any ship in multiplayer mode. Sweet :thumbs_up Sounds like how most sport...

Re: X-Men 3 - Movie Trailer!

Best film of the year right there! Pirates 2 will probably gross more, but from that 7 minutes alone, you know that's going to be a difficult film to beat in terms of just sheer viewing pleasure. Wow! It just looks amazing. If this is the last one, it's certainly going to be a remarkable exit to a ...

Re: Birthday Thread

Well, thank you very much for the birthday wishes, and the compliment :) And no, I shaved off the beard a while ago. Maybe I'll let it grow again though, it might suit me more now my hair's long... I'm planning on getting the Elven Knife of Strider, and I may or may not treat myself to Gimli's Walk...

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice

Well, I did finish it last night. Surprising and entertaining last few chapters. First of all, Stannis comes to aid the Wall, and then he offers Jon Snow the position of Lord of Winterfell! Which is his by rights anyway when you think about it. Robb, thinking his brothers and sisters dead, made Jon...

Re: A Song of Fire and Ice

I've been meaning to post in this thread, but I kept on forgetting... I'm about 100 pages from the end of A Storm of Swords, which I'll probably finish tonight once I'm done messing around online. So far it's been an enjoyable series. There's plenty happening, and that is why I like the POV format ...

Re: Aragorn at the Black Gates

Wow, over a year of waiting. I'm glad then, that for the most part, it was worth it. While it came with a couple of flaws, it's good that they are not nearly as glaring as they could have been. Nice low number too :) I always hoped that one of my limited edition UC products would have the 00 before...

Re: Does enyone know if there is coming more narnia swords?

I want Peter's damn shield! They make it in minature form, but what good is that to me? None whatsoever  I'm surprised the Noble Collection didn't get the license. I mean, surely they're clamouring to put out some more $100 keychains...I guess if weapons are all that's made, it's good for ev...

Re: Why is United Cutlery stopping production on LOTR items?

The difference between those two words is slight, and yet not so. Reproduction, at least in the context I assume they're using it in, means copying something in an earlier style, such as historical weaponry in the case of Albion. A replica is something that is accurately copied from something else,...

Re: Official Legolas Bow Help?

I believe this is an official replica of Legolas' Mirkwood bow: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y298/Durcirion/ZCN00894_2050826154951.jpg A member here, toro1966, has this bow. I think there are pictures of it in his gallery. You can do a search for it in google, by searching for 'Arco di Legolas'...
