Re: The Hobbit

Oh crap :P and there was me thinking I had discovered it! Ah well, thanks for letting me know! Where is that thread just out of interest, I havent seen it!

Re: The Hobbit

Hi all, I am about to blow your minds. Take a closer look at Sting in the trailer for the Hobbit, and you will see, as true to what has been suggested about the inscription, that it has in fact NO INSCRIPTION on the crossguard or the blade, but just has one line of the twirls which outline the inscr...

Re: Boromir bracers

Thanks for the advice guys. I did email him after you suggested it, and got a reply today, he says he's working on them now (No word as to when they may be done though I did ask) Ah well, I'll just have to wait! On a positive note, I'm sure they'll be great when they come!

Re: Boromir bracers

Hi all, I just wanted some opinions or advice really about those bracers, I ordered them from Leatherlore in January, and while Rick said to be patient, how patient do you think is enough? I still haven't got them, and while I have had one email since I received order confirmation (He said they were...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

Just thought I'd throw this out here, Saurons sword DOES in fact appear in the movie. I'm watching the scene where the Witch King is putting the armour on, the camera pans right pans a rack of swords and Saurons (with the distinct twisted crossbar) can be seen. little bit of interesting info there!

Re: Doctor Who

Thranduil, I didn't ask, but I've got a cool claim with the screwdriver. I was lucky enough visit the Tardis set (arranged by my lecturer) and I took my toy sonic with me. I've got a photo of my sonic sitting in the Tardis console, so besides Matt's, the original, my toy is the only other one which ...

Doctor Who

A while back I mentioned I had been lucky enough to visit the Tardis set that the show is filmed on, and after a night's camping out with a cool chap I met, I got to meet Matt Smith, got a photo with him and his autograph! I met James Corden too, on such a high right now! As there was just the two o...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

I agree it is never mentioned, but with all the armouries in Mordor, Sauron would surely have a sword available to him somewhere. I know it was only designed for the movie, but as a centrepiece with the Ringwraiths swords either side, it would be cool for some people. I'd rather have his mace though!

Re: LOTR wall mount weapon racks

Looking great there! If you wanna e xp eriment with either of the boards, or try this out on a scrap bit of wood first, burn the wood quite a bit (so its crackly on both sides - doing both will keep it flat) and then use a wire brush to scrape the crap off. what you will be left with is a lovely gra...

Re: Sword holder guards

I picked up the clear tubing on Ebay really cheap (around £4.00 for 5 meters, which is enough for hundreds of mini lengths for swords) I needed it for my Sting case project (incidentally, I have an MC Sting on its way to me now, should arrive tomorrow, so I may be looking to sell my regular Sting an...

Re: Boromir bracers

Cheers guys, I indeed got an email from Chip today, and I'll be placing my order just as soon as I've finished posting this! On another note, I got back from a trip to London today (I study TV and Film set design, went to some of the prop houses, such as Farleys, who are supplying the new Sherlock H...

Boromir bracers

Hello all, I was just looking for some advice really on my next purchase. I love the look of the bracers of Gondor (Boromir bracers) on: http://www.leatherlore.com/gondor.htm my question is, does anyone here have a set from that guy and if so, can you tell me what they are like, are they worth order...

Re: Aragorn's elven knife

I've never done anything like it before and it really is easy (I've only tried the brass mind). In the UK I paid £66 with delivery, and there's enough solution to easily plate a large surface area :)

Aragorn's elven knife

Hi all, firstly, thankyou to all who replied to my thread about the Roman Siege, I have ordered a High Elven War Sword from them and it should be here in the UK in a week :) . Now onto my main topic. recently I went home after being away at university for a few months and to my horror, I found that ...

The Roman Siege

Hello, I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try here. Ive been speaking to someone on the bay about the HEW Sword, and Im not sure if its legit or not. The company is the Roman Siege, they are on the US site. could anyone who has dealt with them before please let me know anything? cheers, Jamie

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

It's something I felt you should all know, as I know we all have spent the last few years of our lives looking out for what new items they bring out. It's such a shame they didn't listen to what we wanted when they came back into business, I would guess that if they had, the items may have sold bett...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

Hey guys, I've got some bad bad news, news which I hope is incorrect, but I'm sure it's not. I emailed United Cutlery's contact email on their site a few days ago, to ask if anything new was planned to be released after Christmas, as I was anxious to know whether I should save the money I have for a...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

As caring and enthusiastic as Peter Lyon and Richard Taylor are about what they do and what they produce, it's the mega-companies overhead that spoil it by imposing huge monetary demands on items which, to be honest, the members of the board have probably never even heard of, but can claim intellect...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

So now we know, the original Guthwine is portrayed as theodreds sword, so if anyone wants a true Guthwine, just re-grip an eowyn sword with green! Hint hint Thranduil :P Yeah, I think the biggest problem in that list is the Haldir one - thousands of years old and he cant see that helping to destroy ...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

Sorry about that, It wasn't worded very well :P What I meant is, I know a sword called Guthwine is Eomers sword, but maybe the name was also transferred from one design to the other perhaps? When they swapped the two sets of armour, the sword with twisted horses heads (which is similar to Theoden's ...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

I've just had an epiphany of sorts ... there's another few images on the video I found of items UC were planning, and one is the Sword of Theodred, Theoden's son. Now, on the Making Of documentaries in the EE LOTR sets, it tells us that Eomer originally had green armour, but this was changed to red ...

Re: Holy c**p - UC were considering/making prototypes of these?!?!?

I take it that's a prototype UC were working on? (I assume they get the prop from Weta/New Line, take loads of measurments etc, make a copy/prototype then send it back, and later decide whether or not to make it available to buy) That's one immensely lucky guy! Here's hoping they release some new pi...
