Re: Pure Middle-Earth discussion.

I am assuming that Frodo went alone, well Sam too, was to sneak into Mordor, while everyone else went to search for Merry and Pippin and then in turn fought the battles and were distracting Sauron. I guess I would have lost, because after losing a member (Boromir), actually at the time they thought ...

Re: Pure Middle-Earth discussion.

I am not an e xp ert, but i think that the Elves caught onto Sauron and took their rings off, and the nine men were corrupted and the dwarves with the rings are immune to his power. the elvish rings were only worn after sauron was defeated. so, for instance, Sauron knew Frodo was in Mordor, and capt...

Re: Buying LOTR weapons

I bought my first few swords, my Bowen's sword and kit rae swords from a local store, i think they went out of business, they werent at the mall this christmas. i used to go there just to see things in person. now, i buy my stuff online, because this local store was charging full MSRP for LOTR sword...

Re: Pure Middle-Earth discussion.

I woulda liked to have seen Sauron get the ring back... woulda made a helluva battle at the end... coulda been another book/movie. Sauron wearing the ring against the whole main cast... sauron fighting them off and then off corse the good guys win... maybe gollum runs in and bites saurons finger off...

Re: Pure Middle-Earth discussion.

i wouldnt say the way PJ did the movies was LOTR for dummies. I think if he would have made the books into the movies, exactly... he would still be be in principle photography. I think I have that site you are referring to gilgalad-2490, i remember those lines exactly, as i read them last night. I d...

Re: Tuesday Afternoon

I have Anduril hanging next to the Ranger sword, the way i have them set up, the tips of the blades are at the same height (or whatever word). It shows how much bigger Anduril is. Anduril is even bigger than my Excalibur.

Re: Is it true there making boromirs gun?

Not trying to give the goober any thread time, but a gun in LOTR technology wouldnt be too far off. they had fireworks, so they must have had gunpowder, and sarumon had that bomb at helm's deep. i heard somewhere, maybe on one of the LOTR EE commentaries that the bomb at helm's deep was a reference ...

Re: Advice needed on defective staff

I am not 100% sure about how "that particular site" runs things, but I have heard that the item MUST match the description. If the person that was selling it said it was flawless, or mint, or any other word that would mean in perfect condition, then "that particular site" would s...

Re: My B-day

I will probably be joining you in getting the Elven knife of Strider here in a couple of weeks. Gotta check the finances first :( .

Re: LOTR Exhibition Review.

Unless it goes on tour again, it wont, it only has 2 more stops, Houston, Tx and Indianapolis, In. Maybe Indianapolis wouldnt be a long drive. (I dont have a map in front of me).And i have no idea why you cant take pictures, I am sure they have a reason.

Re: swords 2005!

If Merry and Pippin's daggers came out seperately (or at all), hopefully they will be cheaper. It would suck for them both to be the same price each as LFK or Strider's Elven Dagger.

Re: LOTR Exhibition Review.

It has already been to Singapore, and Boston, Mass. It is in Sydney, Aust. now through March 31. It will then be in Houston June 5 through August 28th 2005 and then Indianapolis, Indiana from October 8 to January 3 2006. Then i think it will be in New Zealand forever. Only 5 stops for something this...

Re: LOTR Exhibition Review.

Nevermind, I found it, for those of you that live in the houston, texas area or want to drive it is going to be at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, June 5, 2005 to August 28, 2005, so there is about 2 months you can go see it.

Re: How many helms to be made?

I may be absolutely wrong, but as long as there is a demand and money is being made off of the helms, i believe any smart company would keep making them. if people were buying them, and i was in charge, i would make every helm in the movie. :)

Re: Future LOTR special edition?

I would have liked to have seen what happens to Legolas and Gimli at the end of ROTK, everyone else had kind of a summing up to their stories. Aragorn becomes king, frodo and gandalf leave, frodo gives sam the book to continue, and so on, but no legolas or gimli :( .

Re: The Rattling Defect of Glamdring

First off i didnt ever mean to imply that you were swinging them around, nor did i ever say anything about "idiot". My sword of Vaelen makes a clicking sound down were the hilt and blade meet. If it is that bad, bring it back and get a new one and tell them it is defective, that is if you ...

Re: The Rattling Defect of Glamdring

UC makes excellent quality swords, and i dont want to sound like i am making excuses for them. But these are display only swords, not to be swung around and fight the battles of Helms Deep and defend Minas Tirith. And because they are mass produced, there are bound to be a few that are like 95% cond...

Re: Your opinion please

I would pick the Ranger Sword, I have it and it is great. I am a bit biased when it comes to Aragorn, but based on design alone, and if the 2 swords were laid side by side and I had no idea what LOTR was, I would still pick the Ranger sword, I love the design.

Re: Future LOTR special edition?

Well, 25 years, thats not exactly around the corner :) ... i'll be around 47. Well at least it wont be like the other SE, you get one set, then 2 years later there is a "platinum set" or something like that, then a couple years later there is the "ultimate special edition super duper ...

Re: Tuesday Afternoon

I got Anduril for christmas, and not to sound too biased, it is one of the best swords on the market, not just LOTR, but out of all swords made... i think it is one of the best

Re: knockoff Sauron helm.

That is horribly, grotesquely pathetic. I would hope that no-one falls for that scam.

Now if someone made that for themselves that would be another story, but someone trying to sell this as a Sauron Helm... I just hope people dont get ripped off by this.

Re: Star Trek

I'm almost a trekkie, I watch the shows daily on Spike, but I dont go to conventions or own a costume. I would like to go to the Star Trek thing in Las Vegas. I would definately buy officially licensed weapons. They have the Museum Replica things like Blasters, Phasers, P.A.D.S. and Tricorders. Abou...

Re: Star Trek

Yea Paramount are a bunch of (pick you favorite !@!#$@!# type word to fill in here). They are stingy about weapons and they literally rape the wallets of anyone that wants to have the Star Trek TOS/TNG/DS9/Voyager Seasons on DVD. I would love to own every single season, but they...

Re: Swords for Christmas!!!

Oh yea, the Centurion I got was a First Production Run #2603 and the sheath was autographed by Gil Hibben. I was supprised to still find an autographed #ed left so late in the year.

Star Trek

I was watching one of my Star Trek movies and one of the special features had a little featurette with Gil Hibben and the knives he makes for Star Trek, and has been named the official armourer of Star Trek. My question is do you think, or is there a possibility that some of the Star Trek weapons wi...

Re: What should I get next?

I'm just torn between LOTR... I want Legolas' daggers, but I've been wanting the Ringwraith and Witchking swords, but I do love the style of Herugrim and the other Rohan blades. They are simple yet stylish with the horses on the hilt... everything from the LOTR collection is truly amazing.

What should I get next?

I was thinking about selling my guitar that is collecting dust so i can buy another sword. I have Anduril and The Rangers Sword, so my next blade will be the Elven Dagger. As you can see i collect alot of lines... after strider's dagger, should i get another LOTR (possibly the scabbard for ranger or...

Re: My first piece!

Hopefully it is your first peice in a long line of LOTR pieces. LOTR swords, knives and helms are like crack and heroin all in one. Once you start, you are addicted. Kinda like Lay's Potato chips... betchya cant get just one. or pringles... once ya pop (start) the fun dont stop... ok ok, enough.

Re: My B-day

I would personally get Strider's Knife to continue MY Aragorn collection. But like everyone else said, that isnt limited. So if I were given the chance to get 2 peices... i would get the limited editions. The regular editions will be around for years to come.

Re: swords 2005!

I need to get a job.... because i want it ALL. I wish I could have every single LOTR piece out there and the ones to come!

Howdy everyone

I was just saying Hi and introducing myself. I've been collecting swords for about 5 years now. I only have 2 LOTR swords as of the moment. Anduril Unlimited (christmas present this year) and The Ranger Sword. My mom didn't understand the urgency of ordering a LE of Anduril last year (Guess i should...
