Hey folks. Pleased to announce we have a new feature on UCForums to replace to lost chatbox. We now have software called CometChat that allows users to chat with each other directly or chat in open chatrooms.

If you look to the bottom of the page, you'll see the CometChat toolbar. If you can't see it, you may need to clear your cache to ensure you get the latest and greatest code! Let us know what you think!

The tool bar seems to have disappeared from my computer, even after clearing my cache. Theories?

Not sure Olorin. What operating system and browser are you running?

I had a hell of a time getting it to show up for me, too. Cache clearing/logging out and back in seemed to do it, though.

Windows Vista/Firefox latest version

Not that it helps, but it showed up for me with no problems since day one. I should point out however, that it does not appear on my mobile version. Not sure if this is a software/platform limitation though.

I'm the same as Val... Works on pc but not on phone.

On second thought, I think I remember the mobile plug in being a more expensive version of the chat software.

Same here. It work on my PC, but not on my Android tablet or phone.

BC is correct. Our site's chat will not work on a mobile device. It would've been significantly more money for this feature.

It also will only come up if you're logged in.

If you have a scenario where you're on the site, logged in, on a PC/Mac, and it still doesn't show up (after clearing your cache) let me know where you are and your system setup and I'll investigate.

Mine is working currently. It makes a rather rude sound when it opens....

If you select the cog to the far right, you can disable sounds.

I don't mind sounds in general; I'm just puzzled that they chose a sound that sounds a great deal like a certain bodily function that is the, er, butt of many jokes.

That's because this chatbox software was programmed by Peter Jackson.

Even if not, he'd certainly like it!

Might be able to change the sound at some point.
