When I log on and have a PM, a box pops up asking (OK or cancel) if I want to view the message. Upon clicking OK, it will ask me if I want to open it in a new window or not. I click OK, but nothing happens. No new window pops up, and the main window stays on the index.php page.
I'm using IE7; is this my software's fault? Or does it have to do with the site? It seems like some kind of compatibility issue.
Re: Private Messages
2It is the browser's fault unfortunately. It thinks that the link is trying to open a pop-up and as such it tries and is successful in blocking it. I have had the same problem with Firefox as well. However, in Firefox I can go into the options and tell Firefox to allow pop-ups from certain sites. IE7 should have something similar. See if you can find that and it should solve the problem.
Let me know.
Cheers!

Re: Private Messages
3Ok. I found the pop-up blocker turned off (?), so I turned it on and included www.ucforums.com as on of the allowed sites. This'll be weird if it works, but if it works it works.
EDIT: umm, could someone send me a PM to test this?

4Sent. Let me know. In fact, if you could send one back, that would be greatly appreciated.

5Thanks, Thorin!
So now....
If I have the pop-up blocker turned off, it won't open in a new window.
If I have the pop-up blocker turned on, and allow this site, it still won't open in a new window.
But if I hit cancel, it will open in the same window.
Huh.
It's not important to me. I can still access my PMs in two simple clicks anyway. I'm not that lazy!
