I can't find our old Blade Runner thread, even with search, so I'll just start a new thread. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/39155/ ... ade-runner

Here's an update on the sequel. Looks like great concept art and a great cast. Hopefully there's a great story to go along with it.

It's now 2019, the year in which the original Blade Runner is set.

Where's my flying car, dammit?

Rutger Hauer has died, age 75. Very sad!

Couldn't believe this when I read it. Feels strange, now that we are at the personal age when many of these icons from the 70s and 80s are passing away.

Rest in peace, Rutger, your legacy will never be lost in time. Strange that the fictional death of Roy Batty in 2019 foreshadowed the year Rutger would pass away.

Yeah, it's sad. For me, this shock of starting to lose actors I basically grew up with was with James Doohan and DeForest Kelley.

On a cheerier note, I read the other day that Anne Rice had said that the younger Hauer would've made an excellent Lestat. I agree!

Rutger Hauer was one of those actors that was memorable in every role he played. May he rest in peace.

It would be remiss not to mention that we are now in the midst of

NOVEMBER, 2019

The real world today is very little like the world of the movie. Add this to the lengthy list of ways in which Blade Runner failed to prognosticate the future. Obviously, it's by and large a good thing that it got so much wrong, or we'd be living in a much drearier world than we are!

In any event, I will watch this fabulous flick tonight, and Blade Runner 2049 tomorrow night. (No, I'm not going to wait until 2049 to watch it!)
