Princess Bride remake rumours

Well, I just read the most disturbing news ..... Sony CEO has mentioned that there is high interest in some quarters in remaking the Princess Bride.
"INCONCEIVABLE!"
All I can say (along with countless others) is: Don't.You.Dare.

Well, they’ll remake anything if they think they can make a buck. But The Princess Bride was so idiosyncratic that I’m a bit amazed that they’d consider taking it on.

Yep...the entire cast is against this , not to mention Jamie Lee Curtis (married to Christopher Guest aka "the six-fingered man",) and even Ted Cruz.
One of the cast said that the movie "captured lightning in a bottle", something that never can be repeated.

You could say that about 99.9% of remakes but it won't stop creatively bankrupt Hollywood from needlessly churning them out ad nauseam.
