Hey guys,
I know i'm listing some "Valiant Armoury" info here...and the reason for that is this: For those who have not heard as of yet (and i apologize if this is listed anywhere else on this site)...but Mr. Christian Fletcher and Mr. Angus Trim have teamed up with Valiant Armoury in order to create a "Signature Collection" of swords. These swords seem to be (from the pics) much better than Valiant's usual lineup...but even more important, they come complete with a full, almost custom, scabbard and grip!
This is a little bit of old news...i'm creating this thread in the hopes of generating interest, since these new swords are to be released (hopefully) sometime in December!
http://www.valiant-armoury.com/
What do you guys think?
Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
2I saw these the other day when I was checking out Mr. Fletcher's website. I must say, they look a lot better than their previous works and to be about the same quality as Albion and Angus Trim's swords. Regardless of the swords... the scabbards look fantastic.
I am curious about the price of these 3 swords... have you heard anything?

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
3They do look fantastic, don't they?
So great in fact...i really cannot wait until they come out...and to see not only the final result, since i heard that they already look better than the prototypes pictured, but also if the line goes well...there will be other models.
Last I heard...was actually some bad news. Due to the 3 parties involed wanting to obtain the best possible product in this price range...is actually going to push back the release date until early next year (Jan?).....but, i'm sure we're all used to that from pretty much any company out there!
But there is some good news...these, last i read on two other forums, are going to be priced around the sub-$500 range. Which seems to be in competition with your intro level Albion Squire Line, but definitly above you're Windlass, Depeeka, etc... With one huge exception...you get a sweet scabbard included!!!

4UPDATE:
Bad News - swords are delayed until this summer it looks like.
Good News - they added a 4th to the series: "Actium" - the Roman Gladius!!!

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
5The Kriegschwert is a good lookin' sword... i wouldnt mind having that one...its around the 500 dollar range, but for that sword, scabbard, and belt... i am very tempted!
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
6I know what you mean Blade,
That Actium is really getting on my nerves - been wanting a good Gladius for a while now...but i'm also liking that Kriegschwert.
Well, on the plus side, there's still lots of time to make up my mind (and save up a bit more $$$)....
I really do hope they e xp and on this line...judging by the pics, they have something good going...

8WOW! This series seems to be incredible swords, at incredible prices for the entire package. The "Bristol" is NICE, and I want one! Has anybody seen a the Christian Fletcher "Redeemer" for sale anywhere? That sword/scabbard/belt combo looks amazing, as well.
Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
9I just put in my pre-order for "The Bristol" package, through Sword Nation.

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
12We will be recieving the Castile swords in a couple of weeks. The scabbards will have to be made and then Valiant will begin shipping. After all the pre-orders have been shipped they will be available to everyone. The rest of the signature swords are still in the production stages. I will try to keep you all updated as much as posible.
Also there is a new Castile base model on sale for $279.99. It is the same sword just with a standard black scabbard and black belt.

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
16Valiant Armoury is going through a big change. They will still produce the standard line. However, with Christian Fletcher and Gus Trim as a part of the team the swords are going to be much better quality. They have a few other designers...the stuff looks great...(on the down low, I get to see the new Valiant designs before anyone else...Sonny Suttles only lives 10 minutes away) So if you want to see prototype pics of any of the new swords just send me an email. In my personal opinion Valiant Armoury will be one of the top sword companies on the market. Have a great night!

21Thanks Jash, I am still setting up the Windless pages, they should be up soon. Also, on the Actium...the price I have listed is not the true price, it is just an estimate. It should be around $50 cheaper. As soon as the price is set I will post an update for you. Have a great day.

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
22Valiant just announced here that they have added another two to their signature line, The Crusader & The Malatesta. Both are fine looking, but don't appeal to me. I am curious though, how far they plan to go with this line. I mean, they've certainly started something good here, for themselves, and for the collector who is not willing to shell out close to a grand for a good sword. A year ago I would have never thought to have purchased anything from Valiant, but now, I'm really hyped for both the Hedemark and Kriegschwert.

24Nice! So if i can count correctly...that brings the "Signature Collection" upto 7 now??
1 Roman, 1 Viking, 5 Medieval-ish... I wonder what they have planned next? I'd be hoping for more Classical, Dark Age, and Migration period swords!

27Haha, you are gonna hate me, there is another addition(just found out about an hour ago). The 9th model will be the Knights Templar Sword. Pictures of this one coming soon as well.
Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
28Knight Templer sounds promising, can't wait for some pictures!
Also, Christian Fletcher update his site with new picture of the Crusader and Malatesta.
Something I've always wanted was a Christian Fletcher Border Watch sword, unfortunately, its too damn e xp ensive (almost $2,000.00 with scab. and belt). I would love to see Valiant produce it for their signature line for a much more affordable price.

Just to clear something up, by "Odin Blade", is that supposed to be part of it's name/style, or are you saying John Lundemo of Odin Blades is now contributing to this line?Sword Nation wrote:There is actually 8, the new Odin blade "Warder" however, there is not a prototype available yet for viewing

Looks like Mr. Lundemo is also getting his hands on this project! Wow.
One thing i'm really liking about this new lineup is that each sword seems to have a sense of "character" - comparing it to other productions blades like Windlass, Cold Steel, etc... I guess this is what happens when you get Mr. Trim, Mr. Fletcher, and Mr. Lundemo working together!

Re: Valiant Armoury "Signature Collection"
30Thanks Jash, I didn't even think to check the Sword Forum, haven't been on it in a long time. Well it sure is nice to see more then one big name contributing to this line, and Lundemo has talent in creating a wide varity of swords. Shame his website still looks like crap.
I completly agree about the character of these swords, and the lack there of in other companies (especially Cold Steel, Valients old stuff, C.A.S., and some of Windlass). It really helps when you've got a belt and scabbard included, and the leather isn't black.

31Well, firstly sorry for double posting. Just a quick note that Valiant has posted a picture of "The Knights Templar" on the bottom of their site. Not too impressed myself, just looks like "The Crusader" with a longer grip.
Second, and I got this information form Mr. Richard Taber's site/forum (hope you don't mind), Valiant plans to offer customization options on these swords later this year. To quote...

This Summer, when the full compliment of Signature swords are available, Valiant Armoury will be launching www.CUSTOM-SWORD-SHOP.COM. On this site you will be able to mix and match Guards, Pommels, Blades, Handle Styles, Belt Options and Color Dye Options. All this within reason because some pieces will not work with others. 40Wow - nice pics! Thanks for sharing Richard!
Is it me, or does the new Passau look like a combination of the ones they already have on the list? I hope they make more "other type" of swords soon. Maybe some Eastern (Persian/Indian) swords, more Viking, Migration Era....

It is sort of a combo. It takes the blade from the long sharp Trim sword. However, it uses a different pommel, guard, handle, and a better scabbard with belt. More photos will be available soon.
