I think you could just put them in a cardboard box sealed with packing tape and it would be fine. But make sure they have a good coat of oil or Ren Wax on them before packing them up. I've had a non-stainless mini suit of armor for about 4 years now and it hasn't rusted at all. I've just kept it in its box and avoided leaving fingerprints on it.
