Given their size in the sky, I found it odd that an ocean-planet could orbit two stellar bodies like that and not be a barren wasteland like Tatooine was, but I'm no expert in planetology. ....
That got me wondering (general astronomy being an ongoing interest of mine since I was 9)....

I guess it would never have occurred to me to question the feasibility of an ocean planet in a binary system. Star Wars has never been a model of scientific accuracy, so I just don't think about such things in its context.

But yeah, there are a lot of factors. How big and hot are the stars, how close are they to each other, does the planet orbit one, both, or each in turn in some sort of figure 8?

And then, what's the story on the planet itself? The current thinking on why Mars lost most of its atmosphere is that its core cooled and solidified, its magnetic field shut down, the atmosphere was no longer protected, and the solar wind slowly peeled away the atmosphere. And once the atmosphere is gone or almost gone, liquid is also.

Well, seems as if I missed some lively discussions during my sick time away from the forums.

I must say, TLJ might be one of the most polarizing movies ever. I know people that HATED it and I know people that have LOVED it.

I have to say, I didn't hate it... but I didn't love it... I liked it, it was okay. I didn't leave the theater in wondrous amazement, I also didn't leave the theater will my love of Star Wars shattered.

I had some of the same gripes as everyone else here, Mary "Leia" Poppins was very jarring, lack of explanation of force powers aside, it just looked weird.

The casino sequence... why? It didn't drive the further narrative of the story. I guess the only thing it did was place that "seed" about the kids becoming the future of the resistance. But Finn and Rose go to this casino planet, find a hacker guy, get on the big ship, get caught, hacker dude tells the first order the plans, first order blows up the hidden ships (sorry, being a little facetious/sarcastic with my wording). That whole plot point contributed to the ridiculously long run time.

The lack of gravity/bomb run scenario, I really didn't give it much thought at the time, I get the lack of gravity, but its a world of force using, light saber wielding Jedi, I mean there is suspension of reality, but certain things like gravity exist all the time (I get it) but at the time i didn't really think about it (but if you wanna get on a topic that bothers me to no end... timeline and travel time and distance in this last season of Game of Thrones)

I liked the Yoda scene, mainly because I was like "this would be a good Yoda moment" and low and behold Yoda!

I have to say, even though it was a projection, I did get a couple tears in my eyes when Luke and Leia had their on screen moment, something I wished would have happened with them and Han, but alas, that didn't happen.

I thought they portrayed the inner conflict with Kylo wonderfully, how I think Anakin should have been portrayed (not some depressed jilted boy band unrequited lover person).

No sense repeating other gripes other people had, I had some of the same, but hey, I think one of the biggest plot holes in all of star wars was revealed in A New Hope... where do we hide darth vader's son? On Vader's home planet, with his actual relatives with his literal last name... yea.. makes sense.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
