I just read that Frazetta's "Conan the Destroyer" painting sold for 1.5 Million just two months after his death.
It's sickening to me that people will pay so much for someones artwork AFTER they die, and allow them to struggle to survive while they're still alive.
Yes Frazetta "made it" and probably enjoyed a relatively comfortable life style, but back in the day when he painted it (1971) he probably had to sell it for next to nothing.
I have to rank Frazetta with Tolkien in a different media;
he was the grandfather of fantasy art.
