At any rate, the issue has been resolved as the item I was after popped up for sale in the US.

am., the purpose was that I saw something I have wanted for some time but it was only available on Germany's version of eBay, and it was local pick up only.

The item was a rare card for a collectible card game. All good now as I just bought one from a seller in the US.
