Here's a link to Bag End

And a link to the Prancing Pony

These are to be released later this year. They're for preorder, I ordered my Bag End today. There's also a Bag End Collector's Edition that has the interior rooms shown at the back, which looks interesting but costs another $75. Sideshow/Weta buffs, get your wallets out! :thumbs_up
Fin, where do you put all the stuff you've collected---and keep collecting? I don't mean like storage. I mean where do you display it? Have you got a separate room? (or rooms!)

I sympathize with Jaman about running out of room. I have two walls max available for weapons display, and that is it. :(

Of all the mini-sculptures I've seen, these two are very appealing, however, again not in budget right now. I'd pay the extra $75 for the backside view of Bag End.

And yes, Deimos, there is the space issue for us all. I'd say 10,000 square feet might accommodate everything there is.

Deimos, I've got two rooms to put it all in. My bedroom just has a corner to put it in. I'm building a display for that corner to put my gimli gear and a shelf for busts. The adjacent wall has room for dwarven gear that might come out with the hobbit. The other room is a spare bedroom converted to a game room with plenty of wall space for Last Alliance stuff, fellowship arms, and rohan swords. Its also got space for weapons from the Hobbit. And I have two displays I built in high school woodshop last year, so I maximize my space. I have the perfect spot for my bag end...sting and scabbard are hanging on the wall with Sams sword hanging up and to the right of it. There are spots all aroud sting for the other weathertop swords and an end table right below that's just big enough to house bag end.

Very true... Ebay prices will probably be higher than i'm willing to spend. After all, being me....swords come first! :thumbs_up

Arwyniel - congrats on your latest addition! Like usual, you tend to be the envy of most of us on these forums :)
It's unfortunate that Danbury Mint only did two pieces. They were VERY high quality and VERY affordable.
*Sigh...how true. I'm glad I ordered mine when I did! They might not be as detailed as Weta's, but they were well made, looked incredible, large and relatively ine xp ensive...

Wait...AND Orthanc? Man, good job Weta! Definitely doing a better job selecting environments than Sideshow did...lol. Don't get me wrong, i loved Helm's Deep and the Golden Hall - but just found them small for the price tag.
I still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation...strange. Is your door alright, Arwyniel? I heard some people had problems with it.
The door does look crooked in the interior shot but I suppose it's pretty small.
I also noticed they got the study and bedroom flip flopped in their location, wonder why they did that.

Anyway it's cool. Congrats!

Got my Bag End today! Looks nice below my Sting and Scabbard, although I'd like to eventually build something to put it on, possibly add the Bilbo Baggins bust to the display. I'll put up pictures later when I have time.

And another thing: On the side of my Bag End box where they have the "Related Items" is a picture of a Hobbit sized sword in a box that reads: Peter Lyon Master Swordsmith Collection: Sting. Now this was news to me! When is this scheduled to come out?

If they're putting that Master Swordsmith Collection Sting on boxes then I'd say it's next in line after Strider's sword. Personally I thought Glamdring was next and that Sting was to be the last of the first collection of four.

Any way, most here know that the first persons to get dibs on these are the current owners of Anduril, like ed209. While ed's not getting the other three due to cost ($25k for swords alone $40k for all four with scabbards) the next in line are those who have preordered with the hope of getting in line when someone (like ed) drops out.

Buy a car dude! At your age you should be anyway. A sword ain't gonna get you around.

Good, glad to hear you already have wheels.

Now set your sites on the HUGE collection you can have for $6000, because it IS available for you to collect. I'm sure you will be far more satisfied. :thumbs_up

It came to me, my own, my love, my gollumobile. And they stole it from us...their thievesss, they're filthy little thieves! We put out their eyeses, make them crawl! And WE BE THE MASTER! gollum, gollum.

By the way, I wouldn't spend more than $2000 on a sword...even if I HAD $2000 to spend on a sword...and I'm aware that I'm not exactly in line next, since the previous buyers get first dibs. And besides, the last two swords in the line up were made by nasty elvsess with bright eyes! They love the yellow facccce! Wicked, tricksy, cruel elves!........GAAAAH!

I guess if it had an open back so you could see inside (I assume it doesn't) it would be a bit better?
No, it doesn't. I don't hate the environment, it just doesn't tickle my fancy like others have done. I like that style of architecture immensely.
Yeah, I like that style as well. I had intended on doing (and perhaps still will some day) my kitchen to look like Bree.
If you're asking what? Or saying, Huh? Visualize this:

Upper cabinets were to have the doors made to look like the second floor appearance of the buildings, each different, some with the peak of the roof showing others with straight and the roof shingles tapering up above the cabinets in what most kitchens would be called the soffet. I planned to put windows in them and flickering lights in the cabinet interiors to make them look like fireplaces or candles were burning inside.

The counter top was going to be a pebbled look to simulate the street with miniature cast iron street lamps hanging below the uppers for under cabinet lighting, and the lower doors simulating the first floor (street level) of each building.

The room itself would have allowed for a horse shoe shape for the cabinets and ended with a snack bar that separated it from my living (display room). That, of course would have been the Prancing Pony bar, with the sign recreated hanging off the wall next to it.

Ah, so much for intentions :'(
That sounds really nice. Hope you get to do that someday! I've always loved the windows that are in those type of homes. I don't know what they are called but they have the diamond shaped metal in the glass.
Kind of Tudor style.....? Look closely at the window in the upper left...you can see the diamond shaped glass panes.
