You and my BF in St Louis. I have yet to see one.
But I did see a full annular one (2012? 2013?) Drove up to Winslow AZ for a day.
(And, yes, I stood on the corner before I left :D .... "Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow Arizona..., )
If I'm still around in Aug 2045, I'll try to make my way up to Provo UT for that one.

Most people don't get to see even one. You are fotunate indeed.
Even if one is in the path of totality, the weather may not cooperate.
One person was in the PofT and right before Totality he said a big cloud floated in front of the sun.
Everything still darkened but he missed the corona and "Diamond Ring".
